Zytoprotec believes that a PD fluid allowing for longer survival times on PD not only have the potential to catch a significant share of the PD market. Because of the advantages PD can offer to both patients and the health system, improved survival will also markedly expand the whole PD market versus hemo-dialysis.

Currently, 200,000 patients undergo PD. This number is expected to grow by 6% p.a., due to ageing populations and the spread of a “western” life style.
